VA Quality Enhancement Research Initiative

QueriVA's Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) leverages scientifically-supported quality improvement methods to rapidly implement evidence-based practices into routine care and improve the quality and safety of care delivered to Veterans. QUERI's mission is three-fold: 1) Rapidly translate research findings and evidence-based treatments into clinical practice; 2) Increase the impact of research findings through bi-directional partnerships and rigorous evaluations; and 3) Promote implementation science and support the VA as a high reliability organization. QUERI funds 14 national program centers, including the Measurement Science QUERI, located at the San Francisco VA, which aims to integrate measurement science into healthcare for veterans through a number of research and quality improvement projects (see research
portfolio).

QUERI also funds nine national implementation science training hubs, including the Adaptation training hub, located at the San Francisco VA. The goal of the QUERI Implementation Strategy Learning Hubs is to demystify implementation science by offering opportunities for clinicians and researchers to learn how to deploy effective practices using specific implementation strategies (i.e., tools or methods that help existing providers adopt effective practices).
